Cops Check on Britney Spears After Knife Dance Video

Oops, the cops have done it again – Ventura County authorities performed a welfare check on Britney Spears at her California home after another video had fans concerned for her well-being.

On Wednesday, 27 September, the 41-year-old pop star posted a video of herself dancing with knives to Instagram.

“I started playing in the kitchen with knives today !!! Don’t worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon !!! [sic]” Spears captioned the video, but that did not stop the social media post from going very viral, very quickly.

Several fans of the “Toxic” hitmaker also noticed apparent injuries on her wrist and thigh, prompting even more attention.

Eventually, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office received a call later that day to check on Spears’ well-being. Captain Dean Worth confirmed: “This was on the heels of a tip they got not from a fan, but from an individual who is close to Miss Spears and knows her on a personal level that asks that we check her.”

The check-in was seemingly unnecessary, as just two days later, Spears uploaded the same video, but this time with a different caption.

“I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented … no one needs to worry or call the police,” she explained.
